Gulf of Gera
What can be said about Gera? The Poet has captured it all.
“...where, truly, the bonds of time are loosened and you feel the very gravity of the earth counterbalanced as if by a powerful celestial attraction, making everything seem to acquire an incredible lightness and an elongating distortion, like the nocturnal creatures of El Greco. It is, without a doubt, in the bay of Gera.”
The broad, soft, red dirt road that takes you ‘from around there,’ as the locals say, to the five renowned villages serves as a kind of penultimate step in the endless terraced olive groves that surround and frame the inverted, gigantic, finely worked in silver, triumphant mirror of this round sea.

Gera Bay, covering an area of 42 square kilometers, features a very narrow entrance that is not completely straight, creating the sensation of being in a lake for those navigating its interior. The seabed consists of fine seaweed and a high concentration of plankton, and the bay is renowned for its tasty shellfish. Despite being a "closed" bay, its waters are cool and clear, with regular monitoring and documented sampling in recent years ensuring their quality.
The Beach
Visitors can enjoy the bay’s waters and the small beach directly in front of the Bath facilities, offering a unique opportunity to combine the “warm” and “cold” experiences. They can benefit from this contrast or simply relax on the quiet, modestly organized beach with a refreshing swim in the sea.
